Where is your money enough?
Most retirement calculators answer when. The larger lever is usually where. The same savings that fall short in one country can be comfortable in another.
We are building this in the open. The calculation engine is finished and tested. The country dataset is not published yet, because every cost, healthcare and visa figure is verified against a named source and signed off by a human before it appears here.
Tell us which countries you are weighing up. Those get researched first.
What this will do
- Model your household's real annual cost in each country, including private healthcare priced for your age.
- Check your income against published residence-permit thresholds, such as the Portuguese D7 and Mexican temporary residency routes.
- Show how long your capital lasts, as a real annuity over the horizon you choose. There is no hidden safe-withdrawal-rate constant.
- Show every step of the arithmetic, with the source and date of each input.
Why not just ask a chatbot?
You can, and it will answer confidently. It will also quietly mix a 2021 visa threshold with a 2019 rent figure, and produce a different number if you ask twice. Nothing in the answer tells you which parts were wrong.
Here the numbers come from a deterministic engine and a versioned dataset. The same inputs always produce the same result, and every figure carries the source it came from. A language model may explain a result. It never produces one.
What we will not pretend to do
This is not financial, tax or immigration advice, and it will not compute your cross-border tax position. Residence eligibility is decided by consulates, which apply published rules inconsistently. We show you the published threshold and tell you plainly where you must verify with them directly.
